THE KAHUNA Lā’au Lapa’au
Traditional Healing Practices
Lā’au Lapa’au is the practice of traditional Hawaiian herbal medicine, passed down through generations and rooted in a deep connection to the ’āina (land) and the spiritual wisdom of our kūpuna. This program is for students selected by a Native Hawaiian master healer certified under State law. Students enter under sacred covenant for no less than 10 consecutive years to master the levels of Mo’o Lā’au Lapa’au and Mo’olono Lā’au Lapa’au, and qualify as Maoli Kahuna Lā’au Lapa’au.
Lā’au Lapa’au Apprenticeship:
- Traditional Hawaiian herbal healing rooted in ʻāina and ancestral wisdom
- 10-year sacred apprenticeship with a certified master healer
- Path to becoming a Maoli Kahuna Laʻau Lapaʻau
I ke ao I ka pō
From darkness into light
I ke ao I ka pō is a culturally grounded program that guides participants in reclaiming traditional Hawaiian knowledge to support holistic health and wellness. Rooted in the belief that healing begins with connection to ’āina, kūpuna, and self, the program teaches ancient practices that promote balance in body, mind, and spirit.
Cultivating Wellness Through Native Hawaiian Practices
Through instruction in Native Hawaiian forms of physical activity, spiritual grounding, and traditional approaches to nutrition, participants learn how to cultivate strong, healthy lifestyles by choice, not chance.
Movement classes may include lua (Hawaiian martial arts), and other ancestral forms of exercise. Nutritional components center around indigenous foods and practices that nourish both body and cultural identity.
By honoring ’ike kūpuna and weaving ancestral wisdom into modern life, I ke ao I ka pō empowers individuals to walk forward with clarity, strength, and purpose.
